Have you ever loved someone so intensely that you wanted to absorb every part of them into your being?

This painting explores the all-encompassing love for another human. We can know them inside out, hold them close, feel their warmth and call them ours; but we cannot completely possess them or keep them forever. Life is fragile and temporary.

The veil acts as a barrier, although thin, symbolising the boundary ultimately set on this side of heaven. Whether we are separated through death, time, distance or relationship challenges, we can never quite reach the perfect, eternal connection and belonging we all crave.

Yet the power of a love like this seems to give life its meaning, along with a sense that it may transcend a single lifetime.
